DHAKA, Aug 7: The Gazi Television (G TV), a new Bangladeshi private satellite TV channel, will telecast the maiden version of the Sri Lankan Premier League (SLPL) live exclusively from Sri Lanka. The forthcoming
tournament entitled ‘Pran Jhalmuri Presents SLPL T-20 on Gazi TV’ will be aired from August 11. The television channel will directly air a total of 23 matches, out of 24 during the three-week long meet. One match will be aired later due to the Eid-ul-Fitre.
Gazi Golam Ashria, managing director of the Gazi Television Limited, stated this at a press conference in a local hotel in the city on Tuesday.
“Considering the cricket-crazy among people of the country, we have decided to telecast live of the SLPL. Hopefully all cricketer lovers of the country will enjoy the first edition of the SLPL ahead of the World Cup Twenty20,” said Mohammad Elias Mridha, director of Pran RFL group in his welcome speech.
