1. Existing Set up:

Customer is an upcoming TV Channel. The satellite uplink is being done through IndiaSigns teleport,

2.Business / technical requirement:

The channel is available over satellite. Customer wanted the live TV to be available over web site. Through this, users across the globe will be able to view the content over internet.

3.Solution to meet the requirement:

CDN is the best suitable solution to make video content be available in internet networks across the globe.

The customer has a web site with live TV as an option. 

TCL has provided managed live broadcast CDN solution.

4. Solution description and Diagram

5. Solution Description:

1. The live feed from the satellite is downlinked at the teleport in Chennai.
2. The feed is connected to the Apple Mac Mini in the form of DV fire wire format. Our proprietary encoding software runs on the Mac Mini and transcodes the stream.
3. Apple Mac Mini/Windows machine is connected to the internet(of 1Mbps) with public IP and it will automatically connect with the CDN network. This network will then deliver the parallel live streams.
4. A code has to be embedded on the client website for the flash player where the live feed has to shown. Once the code is embedded, there will be live stream on the website and the stream will be delivered from the nearest node to the end user.

6. Bill Of Material

There is no physical equipment required to be installed at the customer premises for this solution.
We require a carrier grade IRD (set to box) in 1+1 quantity to be commissioned at our teleport to down load the feed from the satellite.
The same has to be provided by the customer.


7. Scope Of Work
Scope of Client:
1. Client will provide a 1:1 set top box or IRD at Chennai teleport for downlinking the signal.
2. Client will handle the website part and it’s integration.
Scope to TCL :
1. To create CDN account and share the account details with the client.
2. TCL will downlink the channel at its Teleport in Chennai.
3. TCL will encode and provide a 1Mbps internet connectivity to push the stream to CDN.
4. TCL CDN tp deliver the content from the nearest node
5. To provide the flash player and the necessary code to be embedded in the website.

8. Implementation Overview

The below steps were followed during implementation by TCL:
1. CDN credentials and other login details
2. Embed code to integrate the player onto customer's website
3. Secure API in order to integrate the secure hash feature onto customer's website.

Customer provided IRD with remote and sent to our teleport @ Chennai for down link.
